Is pest control safe?

Pest control is a safe, regulated industry. California has led the nation in cutting back on unsafe products and pesticides. Some people don’t like that because now they can’t always kill pests as quickly as they used to, but on the other hand, pets are safer because they’re not eating dead, poisoned pests and people are safer because there aren’t as many pesticides in use. By emphasizing safe pesticide use and exclusion, we’re able to take care of our customers and the environment.

How long will it take to complete my pest treatment?

It depends on the type of pest and the specific treatment we’re using. For example, chemical bed bug treatments usually take about two hours, but heat treatments can take up to eight hours. We need to get the room up to about 140 degrees for a certain amount of time, and then we need to vacuum and perform the chemical treatment.

Can my pest problems be fixed in one visit?

Probably not. If you have rodents, for example, sometimes it can take weeks to get them under control. We often need to go in and trap the animals, and then we need to perform cleaning, sanitation, and exclusion work to keep the problem from reoccurring. For roaches and bed bugs, they procreate so fast that we have to do multiple treatments to kill the live insects and then the newly hatched eggs.

How do your canine inspections work?

We have two beagles that find live bed bugs and their eggs by scent. They’re very accurate—they can stiff through mattresses, walls and furniture, so we can efficiently search buildings in a short amount of time. Since the dogs can detect bed bugs before they infest, treatment is easier and less expensive. We provide canine inspections for hotel rooms, dorms, apartment complexes, movie theaters, schools, office buildings, homes and more.
